Start of School in August E
August 12, 2019 first day back to school. We are going to ease into school this week. We did one subject today and that was All About Reading level 2 lesson 21. Did everything but Fluency sheets.
August 14, 2019 second day back to school. Today we did All About Spelling level 2 lesson 7. We spelled on paper. Out of 10 words 5 were correct and will go to mastered pile. The other 5 we will work on. Thinking of doing Nessy.com.
August 16, 2019 third day back to school. Today we did All About Reading level 2 fluency sheet new words. We did the ones in yellow.
August 18, 2019 today I convinced E to do a little more reading of the new words on the fluency sheet.
August 18, 2019 fourth day back to school. We started with RGHT level C lesson 97 perimeter. Worksheet 68. He measured and I wrote. He talked and I wrote. He drew for problem d however he had a little bit of trouble getting the answer. We went over d. We will continue to work on perimeter. Next we moved onto AAR level 2 lesson 21 fluency sheet. He finished up the new words section.
August 21, 2019 fifth day back to school. Today E read all but 2 of the phrases on the fluency sheet. I also had him try Nessy.com. I think I will buy a subscription and use it sometimes instead of AAR level 2.
August 22, 2019 sixth day back to school. Today we didn't get alot done as I was sick but we did manage to get in one subject. Today we worked on fluency sheet sentences. Did half of the sentences and the last 2 phrases. Next week I hope to get up to 3 subjects in a day. That could include 2 reading subjects (AAR and nessy.com) we will see.
August 24, 2019 7th day back to school. Today E finished up the fluency sheet to AAR 2 lesson 7. We moved onto RGHT level C lesson 98 worksheet 69, he did well. There were a few that he said he couldn't do so we wrote them on a dry erase board in vertical format and he did them by himself just fine. The last thing he did was nessy.com. He did the dyslexia quest. The quest shows that he has a high chance of dyslexia. It shows possible low visual memory, visual sequential, phonological memory, and awareness, great rapid naming and good working memory. For now we will do nessy.com at least 1x a week but hoping for 2x or 3x a week in addition to AAR level 2. His phonological awareness through the years seems to come and go.
August 28, 2019 today E did nessy.com. I set the targets to begin with lesson 2 cvc words for both reading and spelling. He said the first 2 games were easy. I think it is a good review and noticed that it did start to get harder for him. The games switch from reading to spelling so it does cover both. So far he seams to still enjoy it. Spent 23min on it with no complaints. I will continue to use All About Reading and All About Spelling but at a slower rate as I'm not sure that nessy.com and AAR/AAS will be agreeable with him on the same day. I think this arrangement will work nicely.
